This is an actual on site poster for the fight between Dummy Burns and Joe Uvanni at the Buffalo International Athletic Club on April 18, 1911. What is interesting about this poster is it was used to advertise the featured fighters involved in the famous Johnson-Jeffries fight in Reno on July 4, 1910, some 9 months earlier. The poster boldly pictures Jack Johnson, James Jeffries, James Corbett (Jeffries Trainer) and Joe Choynski (Jeffries Sparring Partner). The poster is cardboard measuring 14 ?” x 27 ?.” The images of the fighters are bold. The poster is creased and has some minor soiling. A wonderful display piece commemorating one of boxings most celebrated events.
