This very rare 5" high, round tobacco tin has a "FEDERAL LEAGUE" label with a baseball scene on the front and back sections. Diameter of cover measures 5.5". The Federal League lasted from 1914-1915. Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, began its long life in Weeghman Park, home of the Chicago Whales, who were one of eight Federal League teams. Front of label is nice and colors are still sharp while the back of the label (where it wraps around the tin) is faded badly with no color. There is wear including some pencil writing and water damage on the label but the tin itself is VG. Factory stamp on the bottom of the tin reads, "Factory No. 638, First Distill." and a "50" stamped in the center of the bottom. The first of its kind that we have seen.
