The St. Louis Cardinals finished the 1926 baseball season in first place in the National League, scoring more total runs than any team in the league. The Cardinals went on to defeat the New York Yankees in a seven-game World Series that ended with Babe Ruth being thrown out trying to steal second base as Grover Cleveland Alexander preserved his team’s 3-2 lead to lock in the championship. This vintage Official National League baseball is inscribed "Worlds Champs Cardinals 1926" and has 29 signatures from that storied team, including the autograph of the legendary Rogers Hornsby, who managed the 1926 Cardinals to victory. Other notables include MVP catcher Bob O'Farrell, RBI leader and Hall of Famer Jim Bottomley and Hall of Famers Grover Cleveland Alexander and Billy Southworth. Ball is EX; signatures 7/10 overall.
