The first Heisman Trophy was given out to Jay Berwanger in 1935, when the college football award was called the Downtown Athletic Club Trophy. Here we have a tough early find - two early football-shaped Heisman press pins with “Downtown Athletic Club” on top, and “Heisman Memorial Trophy” below the famous ball-carrying figure. “Dieges and Clust, New York” stamped on back of each, while one is screw back and the other is clasp.
