Nolan Ryan’s relief skills were critical to the Amazin’ New York Mets’ World Series title in ’69 - a standout performance when you consider that two years previous he was sent back to the minors for some fine-tuning. The Mets were Ryan’s first team, and surprisingly, given his record 27 seasons in MLB, the only team he pitched for in a World Series. So there is a fondness for Ryan as a Met, and here is offered the Hall of Famer’s well-used locker from Shea Stadium. An all-wood structure, measuring 43”x43”x 7ft. tall, painted white on the inside and crudely green on the outside. Inside there are 12 plastic hooks, an iron cross pole, four small compartments under a wider space on top, and a bench whose seat is a clasped cover for the storage space underneath. Side walls have large metal mesh ventilation section. Front has black trim with lots of chipped paint from use and age, and a space where nameplate used to be.
