Notes: 1992 Edward J. Neil award is the one and only, presented to Heavyweight Champion Riddick Bowe. This award is considered to be one of the most prestigious in the entire boxing world and is awarded annually to the fighter of the year as picked by the Boxing Writers’ Assoc. of America. It has been awarded since 1938 and some of the prior recipients include Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. Essentially, this is the annual MVP for professional boxing.
