Boston Red Sox fans would not begin to understand how precious their 1918 World Series win was until 86 long years later when they finally won their next World Series Championship Title. Bostonians blamed the team's inability to win a World Series on the infamous "Curse of the Bambino" when Babe Ruth left the Red Sox in 1919 and went to play for their greatest rival, the New York Yankees. 2004 would prove to be the year all of this changed and the Red Sox would finally be able to break free from the dreaded bonds of the curse and soar to their first World Championship in more than 8 decades. This championship ring is the same style that was given to the players-Called the "A" ring-it is the most desirable and valuable of the three styles. The ring is made of real diamonds and 18 karat white gold. It is stamped on the inside "86 YEARS 10-27-04" and "Jostens 18K". The size 14 3/4 ring has detailed carving on both shanks; one reads "Greatest Comeback in History 2004" with the quintessential Red Sox logo beneath. On the other shank the Name Reyes appears above a miniature rendition of Fenway Park and the Pennant trophy in the center; engraved beneath the stadium is BB OPS and beneath that 4-0 SWEEP. This ring was awarded to a high level scout and the condition is NRMT. The ring comes with the original wood and glass presentation box with the scout's name, Luis Reyes, on it.
