The poster stamp was a popular advertising medium in the early 20th centruy but this particular one commemorates Baseball's centennial in 1939. The 6 x 8.5" poster stamp includes a hand drawn image of Walter Perry Johnson which is of exceptional quality, this is no doubt the artists original work that was probably used for mass printing. The poster stamp is copyrighted by a G. Melikov in 1939 and is professionally matted and framed.
