This collection of 195+ wire (85%) and laser wire (15%) photos from the SFX archives focuses on NASA and the American Space program in its infancy, from the very late 1950's through the mid 1960's. The photos range in size from 7 x 9" to 8 x 10" with some odd sized photos, 90% of the lot is 8 x 10". The quality of the photos range from 20% G with some wrinkling and editorial markings, 60% VG and 20% EX. Many of the photos have the original news clippings attached to the verso. The subject matter ranges from actual take-off and landing coverage to photos of design drawings. The early Mercury photos included those of the Rhesus monkeys used prior to sending humans into space. This lot is ideal for those interested in early space exploration and the beginnings of a new and exciting era in scientific history.
