Former lightweight champion boxer Lew Jenkins is best known for his defeat of then champion Lou Ambers in 1940. This large collection of SF Examiner photos (67) contains lots of fight action dating mostly from 1940-1942 with a few from the early 1950's as well. The images relate to the fight with Ambers as well as bouts with Pete Lello, Bob Montgomery, Tippy Larkin, Fritzie Zivic, Beau Jack and Chino Alvarez. Photos range in size from 6" x 8" to 8 1/2" x 11" with conditions from VG to NRMT and many EX. There is also a shot of the former champ at the end of a four day motorcycle trip from Florida to Manhattan in 1940 and another of him being arrested in Colorado in 1951 for a car crash that killed a military officer.
