In December of 1947, "Jersey" Joe Walcott broke the world record as the oldest man to contend for the world heavyweight boxing championship. Alas, it was not to be- that year- and he lost in a controversial decision to Joe Louis in 15 rounds. This is a fine display piece commemorating Walcott and that go at the title. Includes an 8x10 photo of Walcott, posed in his fight gear, matted above a mint "Police" ticket to the famous bout at Madison Square Garden. Both pieces are mint signed by Jersey Joe in black marker. The display comes with a COA and sticker from PSA/DNA.
