Derek Smith’s 1981-82 home, white jersey has Sandow Sporting Knit tag
in collar with "1" penned on in black marker. Size Large / Grand on
top Sandow tag with washing instructions tag underneath. Norris
Family 50th year patch sewn on the right breast. Fraying around the
crest with pilling and dark stick marks on the white hem stripe.
Heavy orange paint transfers on the right side hip area with blue
paint transfer on the top of the #4 on the right sleeve. Heavy orange/
yellow paint transfers on the #4 on the left sleeve. White paint
transfer to the left of the #2 and a stick mark in the white stripe
on the front of the left sleeve. Nice pilling all around the collar.
Small loop style fight strap. Pilling present inside both elbows.
Dwight Foster was a solid all round player in Motown for parts of
four seasons. In 1983-84 his strong defensive play helped the Red
Wings make the playoffs for the first time in six years. The year
prior, Foster donned this home, white Maska jersey. Foster’s name is
sewn directly to the back Maska and East Side Sporting Goods. - Warren,
Michigan tagging in the neck. Dark sweat staining throughout the
front with scattered stick marks. One small un-repaired hole to the
top left side of the crest. Two repairs on the back right sleeve with
a board burn on the top of the elbow and light marks, stains, and
small un-repaired holes. Three repairs on the left sleeve with two
below the white stripe and one on the white stripe bottom at the top
of the left elbow. Six repairs on the back with four to the lower
left of the #2, another to the lower right of the #0 and one on the
left hand side of the red stripe. Pilling inside the #0 on the back
with a large board burn on the lower left side of the #2. Letters “O,
S, T, E, and R” in name on back all have single repair jobs to the
outside stitching of each letter. Clip style fight strap with metal
adjustment clip sewn into back. Heavy pilling inside both sleeves.
