On June 16, 2000 in Panama City, Panama, Roberto Duran and Pat Lawlor
squared off for the second time in their careers fighting for the
N.B.A. Super Middleweight Title. Lawlor had defeated Duran in 1991
when Duran injured his shoulder in the fight. Duran got his revenge
in this match winning a unanimous 12 round decision over Lawlor.
Offered here are the fight worn gloves used by Roberto Duran in this
match. The gloves are red, white and blue leather and were
manufactured by Grant. They show exceptional wear including tape
marks where tape was applied to them. Following the fight the gloves
were given to the head of Grant Boxing (the glove manufacturer),
Grant Phillips. Mr. Phillips had the gloves signed by Roberto Duran
on the backhand. The gloves come with an LOA from Grant Phillips and
with an LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc. A scarce offering
from this newly elected member of the Boxing Hall Of Fame, Roberto
