The Chicago Blackhawks stepped forward at the 1974 Amateur Draft to
pick up Grant Mulvey in the first round. Mulvey jumped straight onto
the Hawks' weakened roster, which was in the midst of transition. The
upheaval, along with the club's downward spiral, meant plenty of job
opportunities for young upstarts like Terry Ruskowski and Rich
Preston who came over from the WHA to join Mulvey on a new line. The
trio clicked sufficiently well to insure Mulvey's status as an 18-
year-old big leaguer. Mulvey’s rookie jersey is offered here with
Wilson size 48 and Gunzo’s tagging in the collar. “74” year tag sewn
inside the back right hemline. The beautiful chain-stitched Black
Hawks crest sits on the front chest. One light red mark on the lower
front hem along with small and light staining in a couple of sports.
A few material snags and pulls on the lower front and right side.
Light marks on both sleeves with slight color bleeding on the left
sleeve numbers. Pilling present inside the lower front and back from
rubbing on the pads. Pilling in the armpit areas of both sleeves.
Slight color bleeding on the back numbers and light material pulls on
the back hem with light red colored marks. V-neck collar. Name sewn
directly on to the back above the numbers. A hefty Hawk.
