The Beatles first and most momentous concert was at William A. Shea municipal stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team. It was seen by nearly 55,000 fans, who could barely hear the concert due to the screams. They created new world's records for a rock concert in both attendance and gross revenue. The group took a helicopter from Manhattan to the roof of the World's Fair building and then made the last leg of the journey in a Wells Fargo armored truck. This is the flyer that advertised that concert. Promoted by Sid Bernstein, it also advertised Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, and Phil Ochs. An engrossing vintage boxing-style handbill, this orange version is even more rare than the more common white. Bid on a substantial piece for what is without question the most influential band in rock history. It is in excellent conditon with a few light creases, very clean overall.
