Interesting brochure produced circa 1937 detailing the preparations for the XII Olympiad that was to be held in Tokyo in 1940. This beautiful publication has cherry blossoms on the cover and many photos of the future Olympic sites and schedules. This Olympics was not to be, however, which makes this 31 page brochure even more fascinating. It was withdrawn from Tokyo due to the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937 and ultimately cancelled indefinitely because of WWII. NM condition.
