The flame is gone but the history is still alive in this important relay torch from the 1960 Rome Olympics, the year Cassius Clay won the gold. The bronze torch is in a classic design with a ribbed column. The hilt reads “Giochi Della XVII Olimpiade” (Italian for Olympic Games) with the Olympic rings. On the base of the handle is a stamp that reads “M.F. Curtisa - Bologna” followed by the serial number “3444’ This torch was used in the actual relay of the Olympic flame and it is in EX condition.
