From the first years of the National Association (the first professional baseball league), a game-used ball from the August 6th, 1872 match that saw the Troy Haymakers, who were placed 5th in the league, face off against Tecumseh. Painted brown after the game, this trophy ball, which wasn't presented for some time after the game, beautifully conjures a nostalgic remembrance of the early days of the game. Dated and marked in gold paint and well-stitched in figure-8 ball fashion. In remarkable condition for something of this age.
