The American Football League ended its organization in 1969, but these two vibrant relics remain, with their broad candy-orange stripes and 60’s flavor. The zipper-down referee jacket has massive pilling along its white stripes and a toned-with-age AFL “A” patch sewn onto its left chest and arms. Inside has a shiny silver lining toned with sweat, and containing “Sand Knit size 44” collar tag. Second garment is a similarly styled ref. shirt, with an AFL “A” patch sewn on its left chest, next to its zippered v-neck. Subtle sweat stains characterize this item, with a tiny hole on its back, and a terrific “A. F. of L.” serial # tag on inside bottom, and “Ex.L” collar tag.
