Celebrating another National League pennant (and yet another loss to the Yankees in the World Series), the year 1947 carried an extraordinarily historical event, as it was Jackie Robinson’s rookie season, making this 34 ? x 35” banner an especially sentimental item. This very tough item was hung in Brooklyn, either on the street for a parade or at a welcome home banquet after the season. Silk with screened-on lettering and image of the Brooklyn Bridge and Ebbets Field, this is technically VG-EX, and presents very nicely. Some minor toning from age exists. From the collection of former Dodger player, Bruce Edwards.
