Oversized vintage championship jewelry commemorates the greatest minor league baseball team ever assembled (as voted by Baseball America). The 1937 Newark Bears won the International League pennant by a decisive 25 1/2 games margin, capping off the season with a Little World Series victory. The offered 3" travel clock is emblazoned with the Newark Bears team logo and "Newark Bears" in gold block lettering around the perimeter. In black print in the center is "Junior World Champions, 1937." The watch is Excellent except for some minor tarnishing. "Mrs Jos. V McCarthy" engraved onto the back of the face. Housed in the original leather case. Case has some scrapes, but the clock is in great shape and although not currently running, does not appear to be broken. Also included with this lot is a vintage 8 x 10'' photo of McCarthy with the Yankees and 1941 Yankees roster picturing Joe McCarthy on the cover.
