His stellar performance brought him all the way to the podium at the NHL Awards Dinner where he was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's MVP. A plate attached to the wood base reads "Guy Lafleur, Montreal Canadiens, 1977-78." This example was presented to Guy at a later date, as he did not originally received a miniature in 1978.
