Roosevelt letter is on stationery as Governor of New York to Gilbert Harroun. It is three lines regarding an undelivered telegram. Telegram in question regards organization that Harroun championed called the "Cuban Educational Association." This was for Cuban students to be educated in the United States. There are twenty-four other letters and documents in this archive all relating to Mr. Harroun, Admiral Dewey & the Spanish-American War, Cuba and/or the organization. Letters include: Tomas Estrada Palma who in 1902 became the First President of Cuba (1902 ALS on "Delegacion Cubana" stationery r.e. donation he is giving), two from Major General Joseph Wheeler the famed Confederate Officer and Spanish-American War General (1902 TLS r.e. sketch on Harroun, and 1899 ALS on House of Representatives stationery r.e. the organization), Edward Everett Hale author of Man Without A Country (1900 TLS r.e. being on the committee). Overall VG-EX. T.R. letter has a few professionally repaired minor tears o/w EX with Mint sig.
