It was the swinging 60’s and everything was changing, including the world of modeling. It was the advent of the “supermodel”. There was one girl who was at the forefront of it all: Twiggy (Leslie Hornby). She was thin as a rail, with large, sensual and vulnerable eyes. She was “the face” of it all. Another very famous British supermodel of that same era was Jean Shrimpton, nicknamed “The Shrimp”. She is credited with being the first lady to wear a mini-skirt, while attending the races in Melbourne, Australia. It turned into a fashion craze and revolution. This piece is one of a series of fashion paintings depicting different decades in the twentieth century. A myriad of looks in this lovely oil on canvas painting (72 x 40"). If you don’t get this one you’ll be “majorly bummed out".
