An elegant and tremendous piece, this cut-glass and wood award was bestowed upon NBA coach Don Nelson for the second time while advancing his Milwaukee Bucks to their 6th consecutive division title with their 1984-1985 season (he would make it seven in a row with the next season). Nelson began his coaching career with the Bucks, and would go on to gain even more accolades, with his recruiting genius and innovative coaching strategies, at the helm of the Golden State Warriors (where Nelson would pick up one more Coach of the Year award) and the Dallas Mavericks, guiding the latter to four consecutive 50 win seasons. But it is with his Bucks that this 11 ? x 18 x 6” award was earned, and it is a fine work of art and testament to Nelson’s stature as one of the winningest coaches in NBA history.
