An official World Boxing Council Title Belt, identical to the ones awarded to WBC boxing champions. This belt is in outstanding condition, and was never issued, likely serving as a spare or sample. This most impressive green leather belt is 3 1/2" wide and approximately 39" long, not including the massive brass fastening buckle. The central brass plate measures 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" and depicts a fighter with raised arm, two hemispheres, a crown and "World Champion / WBC". A curling central banner is emblazoned with the flags of the United States, Great Britain, Japan, Italy and others; a double row of approximately 80 national flags circle the central design. Two smaller medals are attached to the belt on each side of the central plate, with images in full relief of, respectively, Muhammed Ali and Joe Louis. Stamped on the inside of the belt is "Certified WBC / World Champion / Jose Sulaiman / President". Condition is virtually like new, and the belt is conservatively graded as NRMT.
