A rare pre-season (Sweden) jersey dating from the early NHL years of this well respected and truly beloved Hall of Famer. Worn at the start of Ron Langway's second season as an All-Star in 1982, the dureen specimen displays "Washington Capitals" on front along with their signature stars and his number "5" on the reverse side and sleeves. The name plate which was originally sewn to the shoulders was removed by the team at a later date but its absence does not detract from the overall appeal of this finely used example made by Sandow Sporting Knit. Inside the collar is the manufacturer's label and care instruction tag, with the final identifier being the "Sandow SK" screening above the backside hem. Could very well be first Cap's sweater Langway ever wore!! PLEASE NOTE: This shirt was obtained from the Hamilton Cats trainer. The Sandow Caps jerseys were used by the team in the pre-seasons of 1980-81, 1981-82 and 1982-83. Rick Green could have worn this particular jersey the first two of those pre-seasons before Langway arrived in September of 1982.
