Assembled around the sides are a series of sepia-toned head-shots of baseball immortals and Hall of Famers of 1939, such as George Wright, John McGraw, Hans Wagner, Cy Young, Christy Mathewson, Connie Mack, Nap Lajoie, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and Tris Speaker.
