Hall of Famer Cliff Hagan possessed one of basketball's most devastating hook shots, and combined his quickness and strength to score 14,870 points in 13 professional seasons with the St. Louis Hawks and the ABA's Dallas Chaparrals. Hagan first starred under Hall of Fame coach Adolph Rupp at the University of Kentucky, on what many consider to be one of the greatest college teams ever assembled. An All-America in 1952 and 1954, Hagan led the Wildcats to an 86-5 record and a 25-0 record in 1954. After graduation, and a short stint in the Air Force, he began his amazing 10-year NBA career with the St. Louis Hawks (originally a Celtic, he was part of the trade that brought Bill Russell to Boston), during which he scored 13,447 points (18.0 ppg), played in five All-Star Games, and was chosen to the All-NBA Second Team twice. In 1958, he teamed with Clyde Lovellette and Bob Pettit to form an outstanding front line, known as the "Unmatchables" and together they delivered St. Louis a Title in '58. We offer his white St. Louis Hawks "home" jersey from the 1962-63 season. Graded "10", with accompanying LOA, and sewn with "Hawks 16" on the front and his number "16" on the back in red-on-blue tackle twill. The tagging on the tail from left to right is, "L" (large), "Rawlings [size] 48", and care instruction tag. This scarcely seen gamer exhibits beautiful use but is still in top notch condition for display. 100% original.
