The Baytown Classic Championship Trophy may or may not be a real trophy that may or may not go to the winner of the annual exhibition game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds that may or may not be played. Cardinals and Reds logo are etched in glass. Only one plaque on bottom base is engraved "1988 Cincinnati Reds." The rest are still blank. This probably means that the game was only played once and then discontinued. Either that or it is a mock up for a trophy that exists only in someone's mind. One of the largest (and heaviest) and most mysterious of the modern day baseball trophies that we have seen. Huge trophy was purchased right from the St. Louis Cardinals. Stands 51" high, 15-3/4" wide at the base and is 11-1/4" deep. Contains a 16" statue of an unknown baseball player that is made of something and sculpted by someone. On the level above the unknown statue is an official NL ball (Giamatti). On the next level up is a piece of etched glass (12-3/4" tall) of a player throwing a ball. A must have for all fans of events and trophies that may or may not exist.
