Everyone refers to it as “The White Album” because it was all white. Never mind that it was really titled “The Beatles” because if you said that to anyone, they would have no idea what you were talking about. This double album was a major step into uncharted waters as The Beatles evolved away from their pure pop beginnings. Hard to imagine that the group who played “I Want to Hold Your Hand” on Ed Sullivan would one day croon “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?” This gold record of “The White Album” was presented to a Philadelphia radio station about a decade after the original release of the album and it is in EX condition. Framed (17 X 21”) with the gold record front and center, sporting the famed “Capitol” label in the center. Below it, a plaque with 4 b + w pics of the Beatles. To the right, “Presented to WMMR TO Commemorate The Sale Of More Than 500,000 Copies Of The Capitol Records, Inc. Long-Playing Record Album “The Beatles”” To the right, the “RIAA Certified Gold Sales Award” seal.
