It was the mid 60’s and Motown was slowly being caught up to by the British Invasion. On July 5, 1964 Van Morrison went into the recording studio with his band, Them, and for the next two years the boys from Belfast had numerous personnel changes and ups and downs before disbanding. Them were big fans of American R&B, soul, blues and rock and roll and covered Ray Charles, James Brown, Fats Domino, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and John Lee Hooker songs on their two albums. To the blues standards, they added a pre-punk excitement and stamped Van Morrison as an artist to watch. One of their original songs, “Gloria” became and remains a staple of garage bands everywhere. Live from London England was a concert featuring Them, The Outsiders (Time Won’t Let Me), J. Frank Wilson (Last Kiss), and the California band Untilled Soil. Poster is 23 X 29”.
