These Rams horns hung in the original offices of the L.A. Rams at 7813 Beverly Blvd. in the City of Angels. A small group Ram of players were hired during the off-season following the 1953 schedule to move items around within the complex to accommodate remodeling. The horns never found their way back to their original nesting spot. The horns came into the possession of one of those hired players and remained with him for the next 50 years. Our consignor received the horns from the former player in 2003. There is little doubt that these same horns were used by Fred Gehrke, another Ram player from this era, to formulate the helmet design for the team. The Rams were the first NFL team to sport a logo on their helmets. Gehrke is credited with this innovation. This is a very significant piece of NFL football history!
