Bobby Jones won golf’s Grand Slam in 1930. No one else has, either before him or since. But a month after winning the Grand Slam, Bobby Jones shocked the world by retiring from golf at the young age of....28! Named for one of golf’s legends, this Bobby Jones Golf Trophy measures almost 2 1/2 feet high, including an impressive 5” bakelite base. The Weatherwax Golf Course is located just west of the Ohio city of Middletown (near Cincinnati); the course is spread over three hundred and fifty picturesque acres. Matching up one of golf’s great names with one of the regions finest courses and you have what is one of the most magnificent trophies we’ve seen in quite awhile. This Bobby Jones original golf trophy was presented and engraved over a six year period to a pair of schools--four years (from 1951 through 1954), it was awarded to the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School and from 1955 through 1956, and the trophy was presented to Pawling Central School. The impressive Bobby Jones trophy features the legend himself right on top, taking one of his masterful swings. Five gorgeous turquoise stones adorn the trophy’s upper design. A pair of silver plated golf clubs are attached on the left and right sides. Take a swing at this piece of Bobby Jones golfing memorabilia. It could be a stroke of genius!
