You might say Bob Feller was quite a fellow! A pitching great with the Cleveland Indians, he pitched three no-hitters in his career. He led the league in strikeouts 7 times, victories 3 times, and he was a member of 8 All-Star teams. For thirty years, Charles Conlon was baseball’s premier photographer. Put Feller and Conlon together and you have an all-star shot...and here it is! This is the original 8 x 9” photo of the pitching great and the original copy of where the photo ended up...right on the cover of the February, 1939 issue of Baseball Magazine. The magazine shows some ageing around the edges and has some creases. Inside pages show some yellowing. The magazine, which is limited in advertising, is chock full of baseball articles. The back of the photo shows some pencil editor’s notes and adhesive stains, along with an original silver seal from Baseball Magazine. This photo/magazine combination can be framed to make a very powerful presentation.
