The 1942 New York Giants came equipped with future Cooperstown immortals, sluggers Mel Ott and Johnny Mize and crafty screwballer Carl Hubbell. This unofficial ball includes the signatures of Ott, Hubbell, scrappy infielder Dick Bartell known to his rivals as ‘Rowdy Richard’, and one of the first Cuban players to have success in the big leagues, Dolf Luque, who signed using his full name, ‘Adolfo’. The cork-centered Spalding ball is in good condition and has toned to a light brown from shellac. The signatures average 6-7/10. It has minimal scuffing and most of the signatures are clearly legible while a few appear slightly faded.
