John Carter had an up and down NHL career. He was a speed burner on skates and could shoot the puck through a brick wall but it never added up to long-term NHL success. For every trip up to the NHL a trip down to the minors was sure to follow. While at RPI he appeared to have a good chance of making it in the NHL but he was never drafted. He signed with Boston as a free agent late in the 1985-86 season. His best season came in ’89-’90 as a Bruin when he played well in the Bruin’s Stanley Cup run, scoring 9 goals in the playoffs. This jersey from his Stanley Cup appearance is black with gold and white trim. Bruins insignia on front. “Stanley Cup Championship 1990” patch on upper right chest. Inside collar has “Maska Air-Knit” tag. Sleeves have his number “31” and the Bruins logo. Reverse has “Carter” above his number “31” and “CCM” and “NHL” patches on the waist band. Jersey shows minor game use including some board burns.
