“Black Mike” Cochrane was one of the toughest of all of the competitors during a tough era in baseball history. His exploits with his mind and his body led him to success both as an Athletic and as a Tiger, and he’s remembered as a fearless warrior and leader by all who saw him play. In fact, his greatest accolade may be that the great Mickey Mantle himself was named after his father’s hero. This ‘33 Goudey issue is simply superb. It’s a true, solid NM 7 example of a beautiful and desirable issue and presents with great eye appeal and a clean reverse. Ya’ gotta love it!
