Hank Ballard and the Midnighters were part of the early evolution of rock ‘n roll, and were already famous when his catchy “Finger Poppin’ Time” became a smash hit around the time of this concert. But in 1959 one of his “B” sides went unnoticed by nearly everyone - except Chubby Checker, who covered it in 1960 and made “The Twist” a dance sensation that swept the nation. The singer / guitarist Billy Davis and Hank Moore and his Orchestra rounded off what must have been a fabulous night of music. The “boxing style” poster is 14” x 22”, printed in red and black on off-white paper, with a large halftone of the Midnighters. The poster is framed under glass and is in NRMT condition, with only a bit of soiling at the edges, mostly at the lower left and bottom.
