Baseball Commissioner Judge Kenesaw “Mountain” Landis, 3 wire service original photographs, dating from 1936-38. The first Commissioner of Baseball, Landis was appointed in 1920 and served until his death in 1944. Often controversial, Landis is best remembered for his strict handling of the Black Sox scandal which, in the opinion of many, helped restore the credibility of baseball. Each striking photo is 7” x 9”, black & white, and each comes with an original descriptive caption. Condition is NNMT.
