Fronted by legendary rock guitarist Leslie West, Mountain reached the musical Mountaintop thirty five years ago. They haven’t climbed down since. They came out of the sixties music explosion, and their innovative style helped create a sound that would forever impact rock music. Even today, during their 35th anniversary tour, they continue to draw on their renegade music sounds to power up their concert-going fans and charge them up and blast them off though a monsterous musical maze. Feeling like some Mississippi Queen, yet? The hit single from Mountain’s hit album “Climbing” helped set the stage. No wonder we’re so excited about this remarkable collection of Mountain posters and handbills. Decades ago, after Mountain performed at the legendary New York City concert emporium Fillmore East, Cashbox, the magazine bible of the music industry wrote, “in many ways, seeing Mountain is like getting married; you fall in love during the concert and when you come out, the world has changed.” Well, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Thanks to the estate of the family of Felix Pappalardi, we have gathered perhaps one of the most remarkable collections of early Mountain memorabilia. Including various sizes of autographed original site posters, handbills, magazine ads, billboards, framed album artwork, music festival posters and much more, including the psychedelic summer of 1970 Powder Ridge Festival (limited edition) poster which not only starred Mountain but featured a weekend of live music from other legends including Sly & the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mac, The Guess Who, James Taylor, Grand Funk Railroad...and on and on and on. Thirty five years later, we invite you to climb that musical mountain with the one and only Mountain and claim a collection of rock memorabilia that will definitely take you higher than cloud nine! LOA included.
