Delgado may have reaped a fortune in the free agent market last winter but the native of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico realized a better-than-money childhood dream when he donned this shirt of the Santurce Crabbers -- the team he idolized in his youth because his hero Roberto Clemente had played for them back in the ‘50s -- in 1989. He was just 17 at the time and a high school junior, freshly signed by the Blue Jays to a minor-league contract. Just after his rookie pro season with Toronto’s Class-A affiliate in the New York-Penn League, he played for the Crabbers, which was managed by ex-big leaguer Juan Pizarro.
