One of the most moving tributes to Roberto’s memory. This 1973 first-edition biography titled “Clemente!”, written after his tragic death and signed to his widow Vera by some 35 of his Pittsburgh Pirate teammates and club executives. Signatures cover the first three pages, with a select five on the first page from close friends of the Clemente’s who offer heartfelt personal expressions of grief and support, including the book’s author Kal Wagenheim. Pirate signatures include Willie Stargell, Bill Virdon, Dave Parker, Al Oliver, Nelson Briles, Steve Blass, Manny Sanguillen, Dal Maxvill, Gene Alley, Milt May, etc., as well as team owner Joe Brown. Signatures in blue ink are NRMT while the book itself has soiling on the green cover, some shredding on the spine and is specked on some inside pages, but o/a EX+.
