Captivating historical document signed by the infamous Queen Marie-Antoinette, 15 years before Bastille Day and the French Revolution. The Queen honors a civilian named Jean-Nicolas Ferret with the title of "Serdeau," a justice officer working at the palace. The EX 20- by 15-inch vellum is dated July 15, 1774, and most of the script is legible. Marie Antoinette's John Hancock, a gorgeous (10/10) but rather small signature for a woman of her ego and stature, is right under the proclamation and above "Par La Reine." The King's crown, the Fleur de Lys and other symbols on the royal stamp are very visible. On the reverse, there is the registration of the document with the date and a signature.
