Document on vellum (12" x 16"), folded three times vertically, signed by Victoria (Queen of England 1837-1901) at the top Victoria R.I." and dated Aug. 20, 1884, appoints one Reginald Oakes as an adjutant in the volunteer forces, and is countersigned by W.H. Smith. Lovely embossed blue wafer seal affixed with red wax beneath the Queen's fine bold NRMT to MINT signature. This handsome document is in pristine NRMT condition and is as white as the day it was signed.
