Vintage erector set made by the king of the genre, the A.C. Gilbert company, is the No. 4. "Mystic Set" from around 1915, offered here in all-original, complete form. The set is a mini-engineering marvel with its steel beams, girders and wheels no doubt creating living rooms full of skyscapers, bridges and railways, and demands for upgrades from hooked kids. All pieces here, in a sturdy wooden box with cover labeling that reads "Erector" and "The Choice of Every Boy". Box and labeling are EX, as are beams and screws, bolts, etc. in 2 small red boxes. Includes manual (VG, slight cover loss) showing "prize-winning" models that could be built. Not many of these are left. Sure beats "Mr. Machine."
