This 1966 Dodgers road jersey helped get Jim Gilliam, a classy multi-position player who won four World Series titles, through his final season. Sweat around the collar, a frayed felt No. 19 on the back and dirt stains provide the endearing game-used touches while the "Gilliam 66" embroidered below the Rawlings Size 42 label gives it the personalized magic. The blue-woven gray flannel with extra-short sleeves looks far sharper up close than it did on TV's Game of the Week. "Los Angeles" script across the chest is a classic and the red felt number below provides sparkling contrast. Whether in their private jet or in their uniforms, the Dodgers knew how to travel in style. They lost the World Series in four straight games to the Baltimore Orioles in '66, but Gilliam could retire in peace, knowing he was an essential part of a special era. This jersey, which comes with a letter of authenticity, provides an important link to the Dodgers' greatest years. They were rich in pitching and in players who quietly got the job done. Nobody epitomized the latter more than the man they called Junior.
