"Spahn and Sain and 2 days of Rain" was the prayer that countless Boston Brave fans would utter each night as they went to bed in the late 1940's. And indeed, with 4 twenty win seasons in the 5 years of 1946 - 1950 Johnny Sain was clearly a co-ace of the staff and star player for the Beantowners. He had moved on to the Bronx by the mid '50's and was included in the scarce and desireable high number run of the 1955 Topps set. This example is special - it's one of only 2 to grade Mint 9 at PSA, with none graded higher, and is fully deserving of the grade. Incredibly clean, sharp and colorful!
