You might say Negro League baseball began in Guanabacoa Park. Through the portals of the Havana park passed Cuba's best ballplayers, producing the fodder for the barnstorming Cuban teams in the U.S. that presaged African-American teams doing the same. This extraordinary collection of game permits for the park between 1905 & 1911 recalls this profound history, in the permits signed by early Cuban nines such as Bano Azul, Banzo Punzo, Union Club, and Clio. There's also an incredible 4-shot photo display of 3 early teams and the park itself. Contracts are VG and the display VG w/damage around the edges.
