Through the portals of the Havana park passed Cuba's best ballplayers, producing the fodder for the barnstorming Cuban teams in the U.S. that presaged African-American teams doing the same. This extraordinary collection of game permits for the park between 1905 & 1911 recalls this profound history, in the permits signed by early Cuban nines such as Bano Azul, Banzo Punzo, Union Club, and Clio.
