In the late '20s, the Santa Clara team dominated the Cuban League, in no small part due to the whipsaw arm of Satchel Paige, who had yet to achieve his real fame (the same could be said of his batterymate, a young man named Josh Gibson), but was overpowering. The team also had Cuban greats Alejandro Oms and Lazaro Salazar. This classic photo of the young Paige during that stint is one of the very rarest of Paige images, and is EX with 3 corners cropped.
